About Felipe
Hello!
My name is Felipe and I’m an Argentinian-Brazilian-American Mental Health Counselor working at Midtown Psychotherapy Associates. I specialize in men’s issues, couples counseling, and working with the Latino population. My advanced clinical training in a high stakes incarceratory environment helped me learn to work with diverse individuals experiencing severe anxiety, depression, complex trauma, abuse, PTSD, acute mental health disorders, family and interpersonal conflict, and difficulties with cultural adaptation, immigratory stress, and discrimination. I am also passionate about working with males experiencing normative male alexithymia (difficulties identifying and feeling emotions) and the BIPOC and Queer populations.
My therapeutic approach integrates Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Humanistic Therapy. I believe that healthy human connection is how we heal and that honest and transparent communication is the key to progress. Additionally, I use interventions from EFT, Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to modify harmful behaviors and elicit positive change.
Currently I’m under the clinical supervision of Dr. Debbie Smith, LPC, CPCS and clinical direction of Meg McLeroy, LMFT. I am dedicated to improving my clients’ mental health and would love to have the opportunity to work with you. However, therapy is a two-way street which means it’s critical that you like your therapist. Please schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me so we can see if I’d be a good fit for you.
